Year 9

Homework

All throughout the year, I would like you to have a book on the go. You can use a book from home, one from the library or borrow a recommendation from a friend. The important thing is that you always have a book you are working on. This groundwork will be crucial to your success this year but, more importantly, for GCSE.

Set 08/09/2015

Find ten facts about World War 1 and write them up. The challenge is to find a fact that no one else in the room has found.

Due in: 15/9/15

Set: 22/09/15

FLASH FICTION: write a 100 word (exactly) story about a soldier.

UPDATE:

In the second half of the last term I didn't put your homework on here but you will have it in your planners. You will have written in two different poetic forms and completed another short story and extension writing.

Set: 6/1/16

Write the text for a charity campaign poster persuading people to give money to the RSPCA. You will need to do a little research in order to do this well. Between 150-200 words, please.

Due in: 13/1/16

Set: 13/1/16

9a2: Either choose a new book or the one you are currently reading. You should read for at least 30 minutes. I want you to get your parents or carers to sign your planners to say you have done this homework.

9b4: Create a factual leaflet about either space or animals. This will build on the work we have done on fact and opinion. You will need to do some research in order to do this properly (due in FRIDAY 22nd January)

Due in: 20/1/16
